22 Marker Alpinist 10

Usually newcomers to touring say they want to prioritize the downhill experience, so they're often recommended a hybrid tech binding that lets them alternate between inbounds skiing and touring. If they make it through a season or two, they typically come back realizing they need a lighter setup for their long days in the backcountry. Luckily, the Marker Alpinist 10 Alpine Touring Ski Bindings are a super light but super reliable pure touring clamp that allows them to drop at least a pound and a half from each leg on the uphill, and still delivers reliable downhill retention. The Alpinist series features spring-loaded Active Length Compensation (allows the heel to move when the ski flexes), 15mm of fore-aft length adjustment, and a bombproof U-spring design that's favored by the light-is-right crowd.

PinTech Toe  Twin spring, with carbon reinforcement.

Visual Step In Support  Integrated rubber pads ease stepping in.

Wide 38mm Drill Pattern

Alpinist Heel  Alpinist heel with adjustable lateral release with different DIN options and 15mm of heel adjustment range (+-7,5mm). Offers three walking modes thanks to the hot forged aluminium climbing aid. The “Fast Shift Mode” enables quick shifting between neutral and highest walking mode. The active length compensation in the heel allows consistent power transmission and release performance, even when the ski is flexed.”

Heel Housing and Boot Flush  Zero gap between boot and heel piece.

Active Length Compensation  Active length compensation in the heel allowing the heel to move back up to 4 mm when the ski is flexed.
