The Rossignol Experience 82 Basalt ski is a light, responsive and forgiving frontside ski designed for intermediate to advanced skiers that want something that likes to turn but doesn't require a lot of effort or input. The construction of this ski features a sustainably harvested wood core along with a Basalt Laminate as well as Rossignol's Drive Tip Technology. Drive tip uses vibration damping materials out in the front of the ski create a nice smooth feel, while the Basalt laminate works to bring a lot of snap and liveliness to the ski. As you load it up through the turn it rebounds giving you that lateral acceleration across the trail that so many of us enjoy in a frontside ski. At 82 millimeters under the boot, the Experience 82 Basalt is definitely geared towards a skier that spends almost all of their time on groomed or hard-packed terrain, but it is slightly wider than a true, dedicated carving ski which help provided some added float and stability in softer or choppier conditions. This ski has a fairly extended side cut which really allows a turn to initiate with minimal effort. Just tip these things over and you'll quickly be invited into the turn, but they don't feel too hooky to where you feel like the ski is controlling you. Thanks to their lightweight build, the skis are very easily maneuverable, so as things get bumped up towards the tail end of the day, you'll have no problem pivoting the ski to manipulate your turn shapes as needed.
